House Raise & Builder Under - Wynnum West

COMPLETED PROJECT – HOUSE RAISE & BUILD UNDER

 

We recently designed a home in Wynnum that underwent a complete makeover with a house raise and additional carport. As seen in this project, a house raise doubles the interior space, providing the perfect opportunity to create an open plan living area. The home is ideally located in Wynnum, close to the water but still within driving distance of the Brisbane CBD.

A house raise is perfect for the heritage listed homes throughout Brisbane as it maintains the integrity of the home whilst updating and creating a more spacious home. The raising of the home allowed a reconfiguration of the home’s layout, shifting the bedrooms upstairs and the living areas downstairs. This home now has a beautiful open plan living area throughout the ground floor. From the modern kitchen with marbled splashback through to the cozy and light filled lounge area.

One of the entertainment areas is located downstairs, creating a central hub. Large windows bring in plenty of light to the downstairs area and with doors to the outdoor areas, beautiful breezes flow through. The downstairs area opens out to the outdoors and the great entertaining areas, including a fire pit.

Upstairs a wrap around deck creates a second outdoor area. House raises create the perfect opportunity to reach otherwise unseen views. Also located upstairs are the bedrooms, the main bedroom including an ensuite. The spacious bedrooms each have great views over Brisbane. Another entertainment room is also located upstairs, perfect for watching movies without the bustle of the downstairs living areas.

The new carport allows for 2 cars to be accommodated, and it compliments the house, blending in from the street view neatly. The front of the home has now become a grand entrance thanks to the house raise, with two staircases leading to the front door. By raising this home we were able to create a spacious home without losing any of the land area, allowing for plenty of room for outdoor entertaining.
